An Analysis of WWII
World War II was a war of may firsts. The global war, which lasted from 1939 to 1945, was one that involved the mass majority of the world's countries. It was the most widespread war in history, and directly involved more than 100 million people from over 30 countries. It eventually divided up into two opposing forces: The Allies and The Axis powers. In a state of total war, both sides threw all their capabilities behind the war effort. All of their scientific, economic, and industrial recourses were being exhausted in the war, to the point that they often erased the distinction between civilian and military resources. At that point, either side would do anything to win. The War was one that questioned ethics, forced nations to try unorthodox things, and respond through utter violence. As they say, drastic times call for drastic measures. Yet, the real question is that were these measures justified? Regardless, radical and drastic actions were taken by all parties participating in this gruesome War.
